In today's news

Karunanidhi's insane ranting continues,
I insist that the Prime Minister, the UPA chairperson and the EAM to give an ultimatum to the Sri Lankan government for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Sri Lanka and save the lakhs of Tamils in Sri Lanka.

How is an ultimatum going to solve the issue? Lanka could easily call the bluff and ask India not to intervene in its internal matters. Then India has one of well several options,
  • Shut up and sit down silently
  • Complain to the UN
  • Send a peacekeeping force against the Lankan army (like 1971)
  • Covertly supply the Tamil rebels arms
Wonder if Chindu will call Mu Ka's bluff on this one?

Navin Chawla takes over as CEC who cares?

Left leaders (morons) Karat and Raja complain that Advani's remarks on the illegal funds retrieval were copied.
Really why don't you give some original idea or talk some new issue for a change?

"Congress star campaigner" Priyanka
makes claims,
ndia as a nation could not forgive LTTE chief V. Prabakaran for the assassination of the former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, though personally she and her family harboured no “hatred or anger” against the killers.

Really so would you stand in court and ask the judge not give him the death penalty?

Dirt Digger,

I would not put my money against the Gandhi family on this matter. To gain a sympathy and moral high ground, the family might urge the supreme court to pardon Prabhakaran. And if the Sup. Court does not do it, they always have a rubber stamp president to fall back on for the Presidential pardon!
Either way, the congress image (or the Gandhi family image) shall become stronger in TN and in the eyes of the liberal-left!!!

Well said...DD...I would like to know whether Priyanka's mercy is confined to Nalini alone or extend to the accused No.1, Prabhakaran too...

By the way The Hindu's glam girl Brinda Karat has been absent for the last few days from the pages of The Hindu. Curious to know what happened to her. Gone for some rest, from hectic election schedule, to some holiday resort in the West?

Along with Rajiv Gandhi about 12 to 15 more died (for no fault of theirs). So, the consent of their living relatives is also needed to "pardon" Nalini, Prabhakaran and others. Wonder why no one speeks about these innocent (Tamil) victims as if only Rajiv G's death mattered.

"Navin Chawla takes over as CEC who cares?"

Obviously the LiC cares. Remember his articles on Gopalaswamy vis-a-vis Navin chawla? Now, LiC gloats over NC taking over the CEC post.

Note also the picture and the statement of NC... he is taking a clear dig at his predecessor.

Ah God.... everyone here are right. Along with Rajiv Gandhi several other innocents died and why is the media not asking their relatives whether they like to "pardon" LTTE or not ?

The Shaw Commission, which enquired into the excesses of Indira's Emergency, found Navin Chawla unfit for civil service.
RSS workers and Marxist were targeted during the emergency.
RSS continue to oppose Chawla. But the Marxists are eating out of Chawla's hands.
Ram would start drooling, the moment somebody utters Chawla's name.
Dear friends... Can anyone tell me the secret behind this?

Chawla has got a higher connection. He wrote the "authorised" biography of mataji Teresa. This kind of connection can translate a lot into money, power etc. Chief also has quite a bit of "cross" connections!

Mayuresh Gaikwad,
Thanks for your thoughts. I agree with your thoughts, but the Sri Lankan govt. would've to capture him alive and extradite him first for all that to happen.
What I was wondering is that Priyanka's rationale is very vague and needs more clarification.

kuttychathan,
"glam girl Brinda Karat" hahaha very funny. Well probably she might be smuggling illegal voters into WB to try to swing the elections?
In fact she was in Assam where she made this statement to Chindu,
"Claiming that the "flag of secularism is not safe in the Congress' hand", CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat on Saturday stressed the need for an alternative secular central government. "
WTF! flag of secularism. I know exactly where that flag needs to be stuck to!

Thanks for your thoughts. As we have requested please do submit a name with your comments. Any random name would do not necessarily your true one.
The sad truth about India is the victims of terror attacks are quickly forgotten and their families are denied true justice. They are often treated as 'collateral damage'.
Sad, but true. None of the major politicians especially the UPA and the Left would talk of justice to them, simply because it might alienate their core base, pinkos and minorities.

Sandesh,
Brilliant point. I totally forgot the grudge of LiC against the outgoing CEC. But if thats the rationale, then the newspaper has fallen to great depths just for settling petty scores.
Kasturirangan would be rolling in his grave, I mean his ashes would be rolling :)
Again the media rarely gives coverage to the families of the deceased as they feel it does not help their standings. Simple economics but poor journalism.

Kuttychathan,
You know what, the Shaw case report was published somewhere. Let me try to find it. I feel LiC hates Gopalaswamy more than he likes Chawla. Perhaps if a donkey became CEC, LiC would be supporting it.

Anonymous,
Thanks for the investigative note.
That is quite plausible given the covert workings in Chindu these days.
