Swine of the week ending 5/31/2009

Given the slow season after the Elections most of our country's leaders have quietened. However one party the DMK has chosen to put its foot forward in a series of aggressive moves aimed at organizational control.
For this I present your Swine of this week:

Stalin (like is name alike) removed all of his competition to control the DMK lead government in Tamil Nadu. He moved his brother Azhagiri and cousin Maran to the Cabinet. He also moved his sister Kanimozhi out of contention. The one person who by virtue of experience stood between him and the throne, veteran K. Anbazhagan was forced to step down. This alleged serial rapist and violent criminal should have been behind bars long time ago and escaped prison due to his father's good offices. Even recently when a corruption case was hoisted against him, one of his assistants "committed suicide". The media has been forced to give up its investigations against this criminal through illegal means.
Jackass of the week There were, not surprisingly, many contenders for this week's title. But the one who took the cake is Abhinav Chandrachud. His defense of the terrorist Kasab shows the levels NGO's stoop to given their agenda.
Thanks all for your suggestions. Looking forward to next week.

And guess what? chindu publishes 4 (?) letters which all hail the great leader Stalin and call his appointment long overdue...

Chindu, not being far away from Fort St. George, wants to play it safe and not antoganise the changing Dravidian power centre(s).

Anon #1,
Well Chindu is now in a CYA mode and doing damage control before things get out of hand. Probably falling revenue might be a motive.

Anon #2,
Yup with the elections over, its better to side with the party in power than the opposition.
But a reconciliation so soon after the fight makes one wonder ...

You're the real jackass: read the Hindu once more dickhead. I hope that asswipe Kasab gets the death penalty after a fair trial; but no human being should be tortured...Except as 'anonymous' above suggests, maybe you should be waterboarded...

Anonymous,
Please have some guts to post under a name.
You are talking about torture of a few. How about the millions who are affected by cowards like you who decide to bomb and kill innocent people? Where is justice for them? Till terrorism stops, torture for people like Kasab is perfectly justified.

Samer,
'No human being should be tortured'.
Really? How about the millions are being tortured by cowardly terrorists who target innocent civilians?
Where are you when they strike?
Stop being an apologist for terrorists and start living in reality.

Thanks DD once again for your thoughtful selections for our coveted titles.
I thought that Kanimozhi & MuKa were equally entitled for the Swine title. But we shall not despair. There is always another week...
As for the jackass title, for the last two weeks I have been having this impression that the correspondents of the chindu were fighting shy of baring their secular fangs. If this trend prevails, we have won a decisive battle. That will be something for a celebration... Anyway let us wait and see...
DD.. let me invite your attention to your reply to Anon#1. Have the revenues of the chindu been falling? If yes, it is again another occasion for celebration...

DD and Kuttychatan
I have been hearing about the falling revenue of chindu for about 2 years now. Yet, somehow it is surviving. However, for the survival it needs both china and TN govt. I am sure if MuKa is thrown away in the next election and Jaya is elected, LiC will promplty switch allegiance and eulogize her.
But as DD said, the reconciliation is too quick to not take notice. May be the initial fight and reconciliation were all part of the act ??
Samer... cool, we have a great humanist here. Except that he/she preaches only to the victims and not to the terrorists...Remind me again, which India and Indian hating NGO do you belong to ?
Finally, kanimozhi is sulking..she will start her drama in a few days.
BTW, check out the great stalin interview with Indian Express. Its fun to read stalin making a gandhi out of himself :)
