Climate vs. Weather Change
Today's paper has a headline 'Climate Change to Blame for musth'. I initially understood this to mean something happening to elephants as a result of the climate change phenomenon but actually it is only a change in the elephants' cycle as a result of an unexpected bout of rainfall. The person quoted is a veterinary surgeon and technical expert on the elephant squad, not a climatologist. Someone ought to tell the Hindu the difference between weather and climate. It appears that all the talk of climate change on the planet has gotten into the head of the writer who posted this item.

Good catch Pilid. Now if only there was a capable proof reading staff and not a bunch of yuppies using Word's dictionaries to do their job...
:):). I agree. The other error repeatedly seen on their website is their mention of the word 'actor' whenever they publish an actress' photo in the 'Breaking news' section. Someone apparently missed their basic grammar classes in primary school.

I'm not sure of the connotation which they use, but the word 'actor' in modern language can be used to refer to both male and female actors.
The screen actors guild gives an award for best female actor.
I wonder if Chindu made the reference on purpose or by mistake.
Thanks for the info dirt digger. I always remembered the Oscar awards for best actress but the official name may well be 'female actor'.
