A little off-topic, I observed something after reading today's newspaper.
The front page has a split photograph. On one side is that nincompooh Suresh Kalmadi, and the other side is the construction photo of the "Jawaharlal Nehru" stadium.
Then the op-ed page had this article on the chinese hero.
The sports page had the picture of the "Nehru" stadium in Chennai (for basketball tournament)
Atleast the Chinese recognise their genuine heroes, whilst we are obssessed with only the "family". "Iron Man" is even amongst the top 10 people Chinese appreciate. We don't even know about such heroes in our country. The top 10 list in our country will be [Mahatma, Indira, Sanjay, Rajiv, Sonia, Rahul, Priyanka] Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru. The rest all can wait!
it is a pity that we have failed to identify and revere our heroes. or may be, we worship the wrong bunch of people - the gandhi-nehru dynasty, bollywood stars and cricketers. talk of having the wrong priorities.
