Apparently if someone within that committee supports a Government investigation into corrupt practices of one of its member, the committee can kick him out. That is the gist of what happened to Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan.
There are 2 versions to the story of the riots in Urumqi, the official version painting the riots as masterminded by external sources and the one by most other news networks painting the Government of using a heavy hand to put down the dissidents.

The final reprocessing arrangements and procedures have yet to be negotiated but the U.S. is keen to mark its territory. Yet, the Indian government baulks from publicly expressing its concern about the manner in which Washington is going about unilaterally seeking to alter the terms of the July 2005 Indo-U.S. agreement under which those reactors will be sold to us in the first place.

I don't understand how is it ok to have a CM who "violates organisation principles and discipline"?!?! Is the party greater than people to the CPM? Does the post of CM mean nothing to them?
Also, Sid deserves praise for the way he has followed up on the "New"-un-"clear" deal right from the beginning. At every step we have been hearing something "new" about this deal that is never "clear" to us! And since we cannot question the "wisdom" of the wise men at the helm, more often than not, the public has been kept in the dark.
The government, which stooped to deeper abyss, to get this deal through the Parliament, will not even bother to tell the public what the next step is!

For chindu the 3 gorges dam is like the Taj mahal. They probably are sending their employees on their honeymoon to visit the dam :)
