Relevancy of title to the article

The creation of a title to an written article is an art. The writer is forced to summarize what he has written in a few words to convey the overall theme but also interest the audience to bite. In a pure metaphorical sense it is the bait to reel in the fish (something this writer strugges with). The Chindu does a reasonably good picking its titles, mostly safe and bland but gives the reader a reasonable sense of what is contained within.
However a recent article had an interesting title, War for the soul of Islam in India by Praveen Swami. The summary beneath the title detailed that Islamic leaders have rejected terrorism and the terrorist remain outside the fringe.
Deoband’s rejection of the jihad will do nothing to persuade violent Islamists to end their campaign. It has made clear, though, that jihadists enjoy no support except at the polar fringes of Islam in India.

While this seems a logical extension to Khare's earlier rant, this article meanders into historical anecdotes of how the Deoband was created to the history of mushrooming of madrassas in Pakistan and finally
meanders into a discussion on Islam and modernity. The article does not present any cogent arguments or evidence on how the jihadists remain on the fringes but rather delves into irrelevant history.
The disturbing information presented in this article is the repeat of a statement by Maulana Khalid Rasheed on the challenges to Indian muslims,
India’s Muslims have faced three critical challenges. The first was Partition itself, which communalists leveraged to coerce those Muslims who chose to live in India. Second came the demolition of the Babri Masjid, which represented a full-blown assault on the economic and political future of our community.” “Now,” says Mr. Rasheed, “terrorism poses a third make-or-break threat”.

This makes little sense.
After the partition if the communalists were so powerful how come the Congress ran the Central and most of the state governments for about 40+ years?
Why is that Babri Masjid destruction blamed for every issue?
Why does Chindu take everything said by these so called Islamic leaders at face value, but question any word said by people of certain other sections of society?

The poor summarization by Chindu coupled with such illogical articles often does not help put forward any useful thoughts towards the resolution. Praveen Swami has proved that he's the political irrelevant equal of Judge Iyer.

you are an even bigger duffer than I thought if you have to ask why the Babri Masjid is considered relevant for any discussion on the angst of Indian Muslims.

Substantiate your argument.... Don't call names. It only shows that you are a big duffer/idiot.

What historical or emotional significance did the structure at Ayodhya had for Indian Muslims? Was it a pilgrimage destination for muslims? It is for millions of Hindus. How many Indian muslims were directly affected by the demolition of the structure? Of course there were riots and bomb blasts after that, but islamists were onthe giving end.

Muslims are continued to be upset because of a structure being brought down not because their community drive out kashmiri pandits in their own land. No Deoband condemned that yet and neither Chindu will be keen to ask...

so dirt is busy posting under different pseudonyms, each making more idiotic comments than the other.

Dirt aka Anon 1:

1. What historical or emotional significance did the structure at Ayodhya had for Indian Muslims?

Plenty, once knickers said they wanted to demolish it.

2. Was it a pilgrimage destination for muslims? It is for millions of Hindus.

Not! It had local interest, and had triggered a local dispute from 1860s onwards. It was certainly not a site for pilgrimage of "millions of Hindus". What a crap!

3. How many Indian muslims were directly affected by the demolition of the structure?

Duh. You have not heard of trail of blood of advani rathyatra or the people killed by knickers in Ayodhya, Bombay and elsewhere? I guess you were too busy reading Mein Kampf or pondies at the time to look at a newspaper.

4. Of course there were riots and bomb blasts after that, but islamists were onthe giving end.

Uh, hello, next time, don't stop taking ur medication before you post.

Dirt aka Anon 2:

What kind of logics is this? Pak terrorist drived out KPs from vallye. What the hell it got to do with Indian muslims? And by the way, knickars ruled India for six years. Fat lot of good you lot did for KPs! You are just cynical farters.

ijergnar,
Thanks for your infantile thoughts.
Your comments and insights are a welcome hilarious thoughts and show your lack of knowledge on current politics as well as your inability to respond with any serious argument beyond using puerile slang.
Understand the context before trying to tie the shoelaces. The usage of Babri Masjid as an excuse for any current day bombing is ridiculous and is only worsened by people who try to make excuses.
Last I heard the bomb blasts were done by Tiger Memon and company.

I guess there is no point in arguing with Mr(s) ijergnar aka "chindu's paid monkey" (one of chindu's staff I suppose).

He/she must be 8 years old with a pea size brain.

ij*, if KP has problem it is because of PK terrorists (not islamic terrorists), Indian muslims will keep mum, but if something happens to palestians , indian muslim will revolt, won't they?? Why souls of islam has not done anything for this? Your insane comments are just indicators of islamic sadism!!

How far in history can you go back to find justifications for terrorist activities. You think demolition of Babri Masjid can justify Islamic terrorism in India. By the same logic your "knickers" have every right to kill and rape muslims, as a return of favour for the Hindu blood that was spilled from Hindu kush to Himalaya and Kashmir to Kerala in the name of Islam.

Last anonymous -- Such a stupid and duffer comment can only come from someone who was probably born wearing half pants. No one says BM demolition means Moslems has the right to do blasts. The debate is why BM abolition aggrieves the Moslems. You need to understand that. Just as illegal and cruel expulsion of KPs from the valley by forces of Islamic right extremism will obviously and correctly aggrieve KPs long years after it happens until the event which led to it is reversed. Right. So what Moslems and KPs want is samething -- recognition that what has been done to them is unjust, that it is part of ongoing discrimination, that there are terrorist forces (both beards and knickars) who are still doing their antinational activities, and that they need to be ruthlessly crushed by the Indian government, it's law enforcement machinery and Indian judiciary.

So don't talk incendiary crap about taking 'revenge' for rapes etc. You remind me of a cartoon I once saw about Balkans. On the wall isa calendar saying 1999. Two idiots are stabbing each other. One says, 'That's for 1066'. The other, "Take that, for 1265'.

You and Dirt and all his aliases remind me of that eedyot.

>> You have not heard of trail of blood of advani rathyatra >>

this is a lie. there were no riots in the route of advani's ayodhya rath yatra. if you must still repeat this lie because you get paid for doing that, fine.

if demolishing one mosque justifies 'muslim angst', all Hindu temples demolished and destroyed by muslim invaders should justify a 'hindu angst' that can easily wipe off those who indulge in terrorism. What the heck, Hampi alone is enough to justify that Hindu angst.

ofcourse, your masters pay you to also deny these destructions, and you wont even allow one exhibition that presents historical facts connected with these destructions.

wearing knickers is actually a good thing, but your masters pay you to remain knicker-less and naked too.

@ijergnar
How many instances of terrorist activities carried out by KPs do you remember? Both are aggrieved parties, you say.
The Balkan cartoon should have reminded you one thing at least. One of those idiots is a muslim. Why is that this partcular community is at struggle with anything that is human and makes sense all over the world?

I dont know anyone who was born wearing half pants, but I know a lot of guys who live with amputated vital organs.

Massive farm loan waiver scheme criticised

HYDERABAD: Raghuram Rajan, Chairman of Committee on Financial Sector Reforms, has described the massive loan waiver scheme of the Union Government as a disaster “as it will spoil the credit culture in the country.”

“After 15 years of getting away from the problem, the Government has vitiated it again.”

ijerknar/anon, Islamism's koran says a lot in detail about Ayesha(6 yr old baby-wife of 54 yr old 'prophet' moHammed), will you ask for koran to be banned since most consider paedophilia an obscene criminal activity of a perverted and demented mind? Principles under the scanner!
