Hanoi Roy would like the N-deal to fall through

Arundhati Roy is a good writer who had one good book 'The God of Small Things' which won a Booker prize and parlayed that into being a pseudo-intellectual favoring Left wing causes often without any rhyme or reason. Recently there were some students with obvious CPM roots who decided to launch a hunger protest against the N-deal simply because,
there was “no merit” in the agreement.
.
Running to their support was Ms. Roy who has been a vehement anti-US activist. When asked why she was against the N-deal, she said,
“Entering into an embrace with the United States is suicidal and we have the benefit of looking into its history with its allies.”

Well Ms. Roy could you please hand over your magic solution to the country's energy problems which you have in that napkin in your back pocket?
The students have every right as they should in a democratic nation to protest against their Government. However Chindu decides to see fit to publish an article simply because one of LiC's pet activists decided to make a pit stop to show support. In fact they even sent a special photographer to capture a snap with Ms. Roy bantering with the students.

Do remember this is the same person who compared the "Indian occupation of Kashmir" with the Pinochet regime and wanted the withdrawal of Army from Kashmir. Sure and while we are at it, Ms.Roy can we draw up a red carpet for all the terrorists to waltz in and bomb the heck out of our civilians?
I wonder what special favors LiC is getting to ensure that such windbags are given lines in the newspaper.

Fidelity verified by a hooker

There is an old saying that its better to have wise enemies than foolish friends. The reason being the foolish friends are apt to doing something that might add to your misery or cause your downfall in an inopportune moment. Recently the Hon. Hugo Chavez decided to proclaim his support to the Chinese cause, which is like one's fidelity verified by a hooker.
(I hope I'm not offending anyone's sensibilities. I know there's a good idiom, but can't remember it, if you can do post it :)
An anonymous reader was kind enough to point out Mr. Chavez support to the Chinese cause which is proclaimed in great detail by The Chindu.
http://www.hindu.com/2008/04/11/stories/2008041162341300.htm
Anything bad happening in the world can be attributed to the US, as per Mr.Chavez. Even if there's no evidence what so ever.
We fully support the People’s Republic of China on the Tibet issue. It has our complete and unrestricted solidarity. The United States is behind all that is happening as it wants to derail the Beijing Olympics. We ask the world to come out in support of China on this matter and ensure that the Olympics are a big success

The meeting with Petroleum minister Murli Deora was there to
further expand and strengthen the relationship in the future, Venezuela was looking for participation by the Indian government and its companies in science and technology, education, pharmaceuticals, requirements pertaining to medical equipment, food processing and the housing sector.

The article does not focus on the rationale for the visit and the resulting decisions, but rather segways awkwardly into Chavez's rant on the Tibet issue. I wonder if China would come out and tell Hugo not to accuse the US on this issue.

Chindu demands democracy in China*

In a breaking news The Chindu demands democracy in China. I got this from a future version of the newspaper from the year 2100* :) You did'nt believe this for a second didn't you.
Ok before I lose my train of thought, another clone from the "N.Ram stable" one Ms.Vidya Subrahmaniam, asks the question why is democracy in America a failure and filled with bigots?
http://www.hindu.com/2008/03/28/stories/2008032854761000.htm
Are you kidding me? Sure America has its share of bigots, but so does any country. Thats the way the world is.
Last I checked Ms. Vidya Subrahmaniam, the favorite country of The Chindu, China is a communist nation with no freedoms.
How about writing about human rights where you can speak your opinions without being run over by a tank?
At least America has the freedom to let people discuss and make fun of their would be leaders.
The first person to comment on Hu Jintao in that manner in Beijing would be sent to a gulag.
How about the civilians in Tibet who were brutalized by the Chinese army for trying to peacefully raise the issue of autonomy?
India has a great history to elect a diverse set of leaders. But believe me, the second any media members dare make a comment like that to the Indian leaders like the American media, their offices would be burnt down.
The erudite Ms. Vidya cannot understand English as she cannot understand Maureen Dowd's statements on Hillary Clinton, but stating Maureen Dowd as the worst commentator.
Easily the worst has been Maureen Dowd commenting in The New York Times. Reacting to Ms Clinton’s tears at a vulnerable moment on the campaign, she said: “She [Hillary] won her Senate seat after being embarrassed by a man [husband]. She pulled out New Hampshire and saved her presidential campaign after being embarrassed by another man [Obama].”

Ms. Vidya, have you ever seen Sonia Gandhi attending a press interview answering questions? Or for that matter your communist buddies attending a debate of any merit?
Another reason why Chindu decides to publish its warped version of reality.

China's "regrettable " vote against Iran

In September 2005, Liar-in-Chief (LiC) Ram lashed out at India for voting against "peaceful" and "non-proliferating" Iran. Titled "India's shameful vote against Iran", the editorial blasted the puppet minister for his "shameful willingness " to toe the US line. Sounding more like an attorney for the Iranian govt , the LiC was his usual scathing best in attacking the US. Iran is a country that vows to wipe Israel off the world map. The LiC perhaps wants us to believe that Iran will use petrol bombs - and not N weapons as the US fears- to wipe out the "Jewish state". He has conveniently avoided any reference to this rhetoric in his staunch defense of the Islamic republic.

Yesterday's editorial touched upon the same subject, but no harsh words were reserved for those who voted with the US. The reason for this change in stance is the Chinese and Russian vote against Iran (and in favour of the US) . The LiC puts on his kid gloves and apologetically says

Under the circumstances, it is most regrettable that Russia and China as well as South Africa chose to ignore the true significance of the IAEA’s findings and instead joined the U.S.......

This is all he has to say about those to voted with the "imperialistic US"! Suffering from more- loyal -than-the-king syndrome, he devotes the rest of the post to devour the US and the resolution without bothering much about Iran's "alleged" involvement in abetting terrorism in Iraq and Israel. You can't straighten a dog's tail, can you?
